From Broadway Stages to Virtual Team Building

Hello darling! I'm Schwa de Vivre, and my journey from Broadway performer to virtual drag bingo host has been anything but typical. With 30+ years in professional entertainment and 1000+ virtual shows under my belt, I've discovered that the best corporate team building happens when you combine genuine performance expertise with a deep understanding of what makes workplace teams tick.

    The Broadway Years

My professional story began at the New Amsterdam Theatre, where I performed as Robertson Ay in Mary Poppins on Broadway. Walking into that historic theater every day felt like living inside a dream I'd held since childhood. Eight shows a week taught me the magic of consistency - how to find new moments in familiar material, how to connect with each audience as if it were opening night, and how the energy between performer and audience creates something neither could achieve alone.

The Mary Poppins First National Tour took me across the country, and I fell in love with the variety of it all. Performing the same role in dozens of different cities, each with their own audience personality, taught me that connection transcends geography. Whether we were in a grand theater in Chicago or a more intimate venue in Spokane, the fundamental joy of live performance remained the same.

My theater career included regional productions like The Santaland Diaries, Altar Boyz at Cincinnati Playhouse, and La Cage aux Folles. Each production was a masterclass in different aspects of performance - comedy timing in Santaland, ensemble work in Altar Boyz, and the pure theatrical joy of drag in La Cage. Every role taught me something new about the craft I love and the audiences who make it all worthwhile.

    Television & Unexpected Adventures

In 2016, I found myself in the most surreal situation of my career: competing on Food Network's CHOPPED in full drag. The producers had created "Best Halloween Ever" and somehow I'd convinced them that a Broadway performer in a wig belonged in their kitchen. The experience was terrifying, exhilarating, and completely outside my comfort zone - and I won!

That victory taught me something profound about performance: authenticity transcends medium. Whether I'm on a Broadway stage or in a television kitchen, the core remains the same - be genuinely yourself, commit fully to the moment, and trust that your authentic energy will connect with whoever is watching.

More recently, I worked on Amazon's "A League of Their Own" (2022) as a co-star. Being part of that inclusive, groundbreaking series felt like a full-circle moment - using my performance skills to tell stories that matter, surrounded by artists who understand that representation and entertainment can be the same thing. The project reminded me why I fell in love with performing in the first place: the power to create moments that help people see themselves and the world differently.

    The Virtual Evolution

When the world shifted online, I saw an opportunity to create something new: professional virtual drag entertainment designed specifically for corporate teams. My decades of live performance experience, combined with my business background (I built and sold Broadway Maids cleaning company), gave me a unique perspective on what corporate audiences actually want.

Since 2020, I've hosted over 1000 virtual drag shows for companies ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to scrappy startups. What started as pandemic adaptation has become my genuine passion - there's something magical about watching a shy team member from accounting transform into an enthusiastic virtual drag bingo champion.

    What I Actually Do

Virtual Drag Queen Bingo My signature service combines interactive gaming with live drag performance. Teams play bingo on their phones while I host with musical performances, costume changes, and just enough sass to keep everyone engaged. It's corporate-appropriate drag entertainment that actually builds team connections.

Express & Custom Events Understanding that corporate needs vary wildly, I offer Express Drag Bingo for lunch breaks and tight budgets, plus fully custom events that can incorporate company branding, anniversary celebrations, or specific diversity initiatives.

Pride Month Programming As a proudly gay performer, I bring authentic perspective to Pride Month virtual events. These aren't just rainbow-themed parties - they're educational celebrations that help teams connect with LGBTQ+ culture while having genuine fun together.

    The Credentials

Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Point Park University

Broadway/National Tours: Mary Poppins (Broadway & National Tour), plus 40+ regional theater productions

Television: Amazon's "A League of Their Own," Food Network's CHOPPED (winner), various independent films

Business Experience: Founded and sold Broadway Maids, currently manage multiple entertainment businesses

Special Skills: Multiple dialects, drag performance, makeup artistry, amateur chef (thanks, CHOPPED!), and apparently an unusual talent for making corporate teams laugh until they snort

    Working Worldwide

One of the joys of virtual drag entertainment is geography becomes irrelevant. I've hosted events for international teams with participants across multiple time zones and continents. Whether your remote team spans the US, includes Canadian colleagues, has European partners, or operates globally, virtual drag bingo works beautifully across any distance.

    Why This Works

After three decades in entertainment, hosting virtual drag shows for corporate teams has become one of my greatest professional joys. There's something special about watching a reserved engineer from Texas erupt in cheers over bingo, or seeing a whole accounting department bond over shared laughter during a virtual drag trivia round.

These aren't just entertainment events - they're genuine moments of human connection in an increasingly digital workplace. When corporate teams tell me that colleagues are still referencing jokes from our virtual drag bingo session weeks later, I know we've created something meaningful.

    The Approach

My corporate drag entertainment works because it's built on professional performance foundations, not adapted from club performances. Every element - costume choices, musical selections, interactive elements - is designed for workplace environments. I understand corporate culture because I've lived it as a business owner, and I understand entertainment because I've spent 30+ years perfecting my craft.

The result is HR-friendly drag entertainment that celebrates diversity without making anyone uncomfortable, builds genuine team connections through shared experiences, and provides the kind of team-building results that corporate leaders actually appreciate.
